Planning a Trip to Utah

Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, Arches, and Canyonlands sit roughly in a line across southern Utah. You can drive all five in a week and the landscape never repeats itself.

What to Do in Utah

  1. Ride the first Zion shuttle of the day

Cars are banned in the canyon. The first bus beats the heat.

  2. Drop into the Bryce amphitheatre at sunrise

The Navajo Loop puts you among the hoodoos. Under two miles.

  3. Drive Scenic Byway 12 between the parks

The Hogback near Boulder is a ridge with a drop on both sides.

  4. Book Delicate Arch for last light

Three miles over slickrock with no shade. Carry extra water.
