The short version: some links earn me a commission, it costs you nothing extra, and it keeps every guide free to read.
1. Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and book or buy something, I may earn a small commission. The price you pay is the same either way.
Affiliate buttons and outbound booking links are styled in a bright accent colour with an arrow, so you can tell them apart from links to other pages on this site.
- Hotels and rentals: Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo and the Stay22 map
- Tours and activities: GetYourGuide, Viator and Klook
- Flights and cars: Skyscanner, Kayak and DiscoverCars
- Travel gear and services: AllTrails, Saily and Airalo
2. Sponsored content
Occasionally a hotel, tourism board or brand hosts me or pays for a post. Any guide or social post that came from a partnership is labeled as sponsored where it appears.
Being hosted never buys a spot in a guide or a positive review. If a stay wasn’t worth it, it doesn’t get recommended.
3. Advertising
This site may show display ads from a third-party ad network. Those ads are chosen by the network, not by me, and seeing one isn’t an endorsement. Ad partners may use cookies as described in the Privacy Policy.
4. Why this page exists
The US Federal Trade Commission requires creators to disclose material connections to the brands they link to, and it’s the right thing to do anyway. A short notice sits at the top of every guide and links back here.
