Drive the Russian River out to the coast
Highway 116 through Guerneville to Jenner. Redwoods the whole way.
Bring lunch to Fort Ross
A Russian fort on a bluff, picnic tables, almost nobody there.
Walk among the old growth at Armstrong Redwoods
Flat loop under 1,400-year-old trees, 15 minutes from Guerneville.
