Planning a Trip to Oregon
Oregon packs three trips into one state: Highway 101 down the coast, the Columbia River Gorge east of Portland, and Crater Lake sitting in the middle of the Cascades.
What to Do in Oregon
Drive the Rim Road at Crater Lake
Thirty-three miles round the caldera, snowed shut until July.
Chain together the Gorge waterfalls
Latourell, Bridal Veil and Multnomah inside half an hour.
Time Cannon Beach to low tide
The Haystack Rock tidepools only open for a couple of hours.
Loop Mount Hood on the way back
Timberline Lodge at 6,000 feet, ninety minutes from Portland.
