Planning a Trip to San Diego County

Balboa Park alone justifies a day. Add La Jolla’s coves, a morning in Coronado, and the beach towns strung north along the 101.

What to Do in San Diego County

  1. Start early at La Jolla Cove

Sea lions on the rocks, and no parking at all after ten.

  2. Time Sunset Cliffs to the tide

Low tide opens up the arches below Ladera Street.

  3. Spend a slow afternoon in Balboa Park

Seventeen museums and gardens you can wander between for free.

  4. Take the ferry to Coronado instead of driving

Fifteen minutes from Broadway Pier, then a walk to the beach.
