Planning a Trip to Marin County
Twenty minutes over the bridge and the city is gone. Marin is ridgelines above the fog, a lighthouse at the end of a peninsula that sticks ten miles into the Pacific, and redwoods you can be standing under before lunch.
What to Do in Marin County
Take the stairs down to Point Reyes Lighthouse
Three hundred steps to the windiest point on the West Coast.
Reserve ahead for Muir Woods
Parking and shuttles book in advance, which keeps it quiet.
Drive to the top of Mount Tam for sunset
East Peak looks down on the bay, the city and the fog.
Eat oysters on Tomales Bay
